So I was desperate to find a solution to this irksome problem. I need to eat lots of beans (for protein) and I had resorted lately to buying canned or bottled pre-cooked beans here and there, but I don't want to create an unhealthy habit so I needed a more permanent solution. And that's when it hit me: If I don't have the time nor the money to hunt down a decent pressure cooker, I'll MAKE MY OWN!
And so, in an amazing feat of engineering skills and innovative brainstorming, I give you, the Elisa Pressure Cooker Extraordinaire:
It worked like a charm. I'm not even kidding. The beans were tender as can be and the infused flavors of the condiments were absorbed by every delicious grain. I had some major water spilling going on until I learned how to work with the right amount of water... so I created a big mess. But it was SOOO worth it, the beans took about an hour to cook.
Mission: Accomplished :)

Ok, first....I had no idea you were still blogging!
Second of all, you are the biggest nerd I know. And if I'm ever in the middle of some kind of natural disaster, ship-wrecked, or on Survivor, I hope it's with you. Because it's the only way I'd survive. You are unique, my friend. Priceless ;)
De cierto, de cierto os digo, he ahi a... LA NERDA. ME QUITO EL SOMRBERO. I don't know what else to say!!! hahahaha This goes on the top list for posts!!! That is so cool that you came up with that and that it actually worked.
P.S.- Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with your Angolan beans. Withouth a pressure cooker, beans here won't take longer than 2 hrs!
Oh, and not to rain on your parade, but....I'm pretty sure you're exposing yourself to some kind of chemical poisioning. Just saying.....I don't really want to meet your future two-headed cyclops babies.
And I'm not even being a hater, because I've already acknowledged your "special" kind of genius ;)
Elisa! Oh how I love it when you outdo yourself!!!!! You're our modern day Eli Whitney. Make more and start selling them to your neighbors lol! oh my gosh this post cracked me up soooo hard! The most genious thing I've ever done is iron my pants with my Chi back at camp. lol!
