Bloodshot Eyes...

I haven't looked at myself in the mirror lately, but I'm pretty sure I have bloodshot eyes... too many late nights in a row for me this week! Sunday was the game, Monday I stayed up til 6 am putting together the music book for the course, and tonight I just came home from working on getting the books ready for printing and binding at my cousin's home office. I'm ready to sleep... and yes, RO, it's especially at times like these that I truly appreciate the blessing of being so close to work that I can wake up at like 7 am... or 7:20 if I decide to skip breakfast (it's a tough call to make...) and still make it to work on time.

Praise the Lord, it was arduous work, but it's all done now. The books came out really nice... I just hope the students put them to good use and learn a lot from them, so I didn't just waste energy, time and resources in vain.

Last Sunday, the three students that now own violins played a little trio I made up on the spot. They're reading notes (half notes and quarter notes only, but that's pretty good already) and training their ear to catch when they're playing off tune pretty well... At the end everyone else clapped enthusiastically as if they had just heard the greatest symphony on earth. It was quite moving. I'm loving the whole experience.

I'm off to bed now. A brand new day awaits tomorrow, and I can hardly wait :D

Mr. Holland's Opus! Have I said that already?! Ok, this is so totally inspiring. Can you please post a video, or something??? Post!

I'm SO psyched for your new project. I know your students will pick up quickly, I mean, we got rhythm! lol
